Welcome to an International Symposium—WavePro—on the occasion of Costas Soukoulis' 60th Birthday, to be held June 8-11, 2011, Crete.
The Symposium is devoted to wave propagation in composite materials. It embraces a wide area of composite systems, including electronic disorder systems, photonic and electromagnetic crystals, metamaterials and plasmonic materials.
WavePro unifies research and application techniques from all the different areas in which propagation and transport properties of composites are important. These range from inverse problems in wave propagation, to plasmonic optics for biomolecular sensing and telecommunications, and to metamaterials for telecommunications, imaging and security purposes, etc.
The venue of the symposium will be the Aquilla Rithymna Beach hotel Conference Center, close to the picturesque town of Rethymnon, in Crete, Greece.
